Microgaming to Release Highly Anticipated Slot Machine Sequel
April 29, 2010
In many ways, the 2010 year has not been what Microgaming was expecting. Considering that this year was going to be the year that they released their first branded slot machine in the form of the highly successful Lord of the Rings trilogy, the relative lack of proliferation of new games from this brand has disappointed many people.
However, May 2010 will bring a new release from Microgaming that could very well be the most anticipated slot machine sequel in the history of the online gaming industry. Considering how many different games get released every year in that industry, this is certainly saying quite a bit.
The slot machine is called Thunderstruck II and as the name implies it is the sequel to Thunderstruck, an online video slot machine that was released onto the marketplace by Microgaming in 2003. This game featured Norse mythology at its finest and was able to inspire many players to greatness both in terms of their results and in terms of giving them a new appreciation for the beauty of thematic engineering within online video slot machines.
It is hoped that Thunderstruck II will have a similar effect and although it is often difficult for a sequel to live up to an excellent first installment, it is also the case that Thunderstruck II has improved graphics and many new godlike symbols on the reels of its slots. This slot machine will also feature the new 243 winning combination paradigm that Microgaming has introduced in many of its recent releases, giving players the chance to truly experience the full range of god symbols for Thunderstruck II in a way that was probably not that possible for the first slot machine to bear the same name.
Previews of the slot machine are already being offered at high-profile Microgaming casinos and so far reception has been positive. The graphical quality combined with the sounds introduced by Microgaming in this machine seems to have blown away many of the first people to see this machine in action. However, only time will tell if this sequel can live up to the amazing results of the first Thunderstruck online video slot machine.
Vegas Technology Releases New Slot Machines
April 19, 2010
In a move that has made them for the moment the current beacon of being prolific in the world of online casino gaming, Vegas Technology has decided to release four new slot machines to their online casinos. Although they are a newer brand, Vegas Technology does have some easily recognizable online casinos under their banner such as VIP Slots Casino.
Speaking of slot machines, all four of the new ones released by Vegas Technology are consistent with the five reel video slot machine format that has really become the established format for the vast majority of online slot machine releases. In spite of that commonality, the unique themes of all four slot machines are easy to distinguish from one another.
The first slot machine to be released by Vegas Technology is the Butterflies online video slot machine. This theme represents the life cycle of the magnificent insect starting with the caterpillar stage, going to the cocoon and eventually ending in a beautiful butterfly. The graphics are nice, but the 7000 coin jackpot that this slot machine comes with is even nicer than the theme.
The second slot machine to come out from Vegas Technology is the California Gold video slot machine. Like the name implies, this slot machine is all about the gold rush to California back in the day. As a result, it contains images of prospectors, barrels, wagon carts of gold, pick axes, dynamite and many of the other images from that period of time. It is also a game that features free spin action and triple the prize money if you win with a free spin roll.
Big Foot is the name of the third slot machine released by Vegas Technology and it is of course the journey to find the elusive Sasquatch or Yeti. Like California Gold, this game features free spin availability, although it can give you up to 20 at one time with a potential 10x multiplier depending on what happens in the game.
Rounding out the group of four new slots is the Jurassic Slots online video slot machine. As the name implies, this slot machine is all about dinosaurs and dinosaur hunters and can end up giving you a sweet amount of money if you play it just right.
New Online Casino Games Available at Virgin Casino
April 12, 2010
Virgin Casino, owned by the company of the same name, is an online casino that is powered by the Wager Works software but at the same time has the ability to offer gaming action provided by other software companies through this software package. That is important because it is directly relevant to one new game they are offering this month that promises to be a hit.
The first game they are offering new this month is an online video slot machine called Play Your Cards Right. It was created by Fremantle based on the television show of the same name that asked you to predict whether each successive card would be higher or lower than the one before it. It works perfectly with the Wager Works software though and that is a good thing for fans of Virgin Casino.
The game itself has a very interesting engine that revolves around the appearance of red card and blue card symbols on the reels. That is because there is a potential bonus jackpot meter that money gets added to every time one of these symbols appears on the reels. Then, later on, when the double chance symbols appear in triplicate or more during a specific spin, the bonus game starts and each jackpot is played for starting with the larger and going to the smaller.
The bonus game works exactly like the television show. If you can get from one end of the card row to the other, you get the jackpot. If you can’t, you lose and get a chance at the smaller jackpot. There is also a larger bonus game with more money and more card rows involved when the grand final symbols appear in triplicate as opposed to the double chance symbols.
Although Play Your Cards Right is definitely the game more likely to draw attention of the two, it is important not to forget the instant play Casino Dice game. Two dice are rolled and the goal of the player is to get the rolled number right. There are exotic bets and Let It Ride wagers available as well, so the game can become a lot more interesting than you might at first think.
Microgaming Releases Two Bingo Side Games for April 2010
April 4, 2010
Microgaming, through a media advisory released from its HQ at Isle of Man on March 30, has announced the release of two new Bingo Side online slot Games. Microgaming usually launches new Bingo Side games every month.
The first one is Mega Moolah Isis, which is a progressive jackpot slot game connected to the Mega Moolah network. It is built on a popular ancient Egyptian theme. The game symbols, taken from Egyptian mythology, include Isis, the mother Goddess, as the wild symbol, Hawk, as the scatter symbol, Ankh, Vase, Orb, Brooch and Lotus. This five reels and 20 pay lines game has all the regular features of contemporary online slot games, including the Free Spin Bonus feature. Mega Moolah Isis also has the much popular Microgaming Gamble feature, wherein players could stake their payouts, except progressive jackpot winnings, to try to double or to quadruple their money. The best feature in the game however is the randomly triggered bonus round that leads to spinning the wheel. This assures the players one of the four progressive jackpots the game offers.
The other Bingo Side Game launched by Mircrogaming is Fruit Smoothies. This three reel, one payline, and one coin slot game is structured in the classic mold. The game symbols obviously are various fruits. The game got a top feature screen that is activated when a win is triggered. A number of win spins can be played out here, wherein the number of win spins is determined by the symbol combinations won by the player in the regular game. Further, if three Extra Spin symbols are displayed on one of the five win lines, more win spins, up to four, are added to the total number of win spins left.
The Head of Bingo at Microgaming, Neill Whyte, on the release of the new side games explained that there is a growing segment of bingo players who prefer the side games along with the main bingo action, and hence these games from Microgaming.
It is also noteworthy that Microgaming, unlike the previous months, did not release a preview of online casino games to be launched early in the next month. Hopefully this does not mean a delay in the launch of the new online casino games from Microgaming.
